Well-done Nary and Co.

 Nepalese ‘women rhinos’ are back to home with the glory of being runners-up in their first-ever international tournament. Defeat with Test Playing Nation Bangladesh was not a surprise, while Nepal had already made history reaching to the final. 

Skipper Nary Thapa led from the front claiming 12 wickets in 5 matches, who was honored as the best bowler of the tournament. Madhu Thapa shown some potential with the bat. As expected, bowling was our strength and batting was the weakness. Victory over Hong Kong was the most encouraging prospect while a draw with Malaysia was most disappointing. 

Of course, every international success in any game is a pride for country. But I still believe that we have to concentrate our focus on ‘Male cricket’. For me, Women Cricket is only a funny stuff. It does not have a serious recognition in International level. What do u think guys?

नारायणहिटी दरवारको एउटा वैठक कक्ष । राजा ज्ञानेन्द्र चिउँडोमा हात लगाएर नजिकै रहेको टिभिमा नाकै ठोकिएला जस्तो गरि एकोहोरिएका छन् । अचानक के मुड चल्छ रिमोट दवाएर झ्याप्प टिभी बन्द गर्छन् र जुरूक्‍क उठ्छन् । एकछिन भित्रै ओहोर गर्छन्, अनि छेउमा राखिएको सोफामा थचक्‍क बस्छन् र पुर्पुरो समाएर भुत्‍भूताउन थाल्छन्….

‘हेत्तेरी ! के दशा लाग्यो यस्तो । हुँदा हुँदा अब त खाइपाइ आएको तलबभत्ता समेत खोसियो । अब के गरी गुजारा चलाउने होला हरे । यतिका जहान परिवार कसरी पाल्ने ।

पुरानै मुर्ति पेशामै फर्किनुपर्छ कि जस्तो छ । तर अब पहिला जस्तो सजिलो छैन अहिले। खुय्य्य्य ! बरु विदेशतिर पस्नुपर्छ कि क्या हो ।

हुन त गिरिजाले केही गरिहाल्छन् कि । संविधानसभासम्म पर्खिनु भनेको छ बुढाले, पर्खिनैपर्ला । नाति केटोलाई बनाइदिए भने पनि भैहाल्यो नी (अनुहारमा अलिकति मुस्कान आउँछ) । तर अब खर्च पो कसरी चलाउने होला । गिरिजासित एकचोटी आफैंले भेटेर कुरा गर्न पाए पनि हुन्थ्यो…. ‘

Cricketing Sisters

  Now, the newly born Women Cricketers of Nepal are ready to test themselves. And we are waiting for the different taste of cricket when a bunch of enthusiastic faces will take their international counterparts for the first time. They will take part in the ACC women’s Cricket Tournament in Malaysia. Nari Thapa, who already is a National player of Badminton, is leading our mission.What can we expect from them?

Can they make A sensational entry in the international level upsetting their opponents?

Or they will just make some funny moments in the field or enjoy a foreign visit?

We don’t have a long history of Women’s Cricket. This team is of course under prepared. So it is better not to hope any thing.  Even though, In the international level also, Women’s Cricket is not matured at all. So there is enough chance for the Nepalese girls to repeat the story what the Nepalese male cricketers have done.

It is for sure that, as our tradition these girls will struggle with the bat. The weakness is already poured in the National Tournament in which we saw many ridiculous batting figures. This team will be depended on the bowling. And they may have good fielding side.

राजाको ‘अन्तिम भोज’

     

  राजा ज्ञानेन्द्रले आफ्नो ६१ औं जन्मदिवस बडो धुमधामले मनाउने तयारी गर्दैछन् । राजसंस्था संकटग्रस्त अवस्थामा रहेको बेला हुन लागेको उनको जन्मदिनको समारोहलाई आलोचकहरुले ‘अन्तिम भोज’ को संज्ञा दिन थालेका छन् । कतिपय नेताहरुले चाहिँ अहिलेको अवस्थामा उनलाई यस्तो भव्य कार्यक्रम आयोजना गर्न दिन नहुने माग राख्दैछन्।राजाको रुपमा यो ज्ञानेन्द्रको अन्तिम जन्मदिवस हुन सक्छ । यदि संविधान सभाको चुनाव तोकिएको मितिमा भइहाल्यो भने राजसंस्था नामेट हुने लगभग पक्‍का छ भने भएन भने पनि अब लामो समयसम्म नेपालमा राजतन्त्र कायम रहने स्थिति छैन । किनभने संसदले नै राजालाई खारेज गर्न सक्ने संविधान तयार भएको छ । यो संकटका बारेमा राजा अवश्य पनि अनभिज्ञ छैनन् । र उनी मानसिक रुपमा निकै तनाव झेलिरहेको हुनुपर्छ । त यस्तो अवस्थामा आफ्नो जन्मदिन धुमधामले मनाउने र नागरिक अभिनन्दन समेत ग्रहण गर्ने लालसा र जाँगर उनमा किन पलायो होला ।

यसका केही कारण हुन सक्छन् । पहिलो जस्तोसुकै संकटको अवस्था भए पनि आफू विचलित भएको छैन भनेर दुनियाँलाई देखाउन चाहन्छन् । दोस्रो आफू चाँडै समाप्त हुँदैछु भन्‍ने महसुस गरेर आफ्ना बचेखुचेका समर्थकहरुबाट जयजयकार सुनेर र अनिभन्दन ग्रहण गरेर क्षणिक तुष्टी लिन खोजीरहेका छन् । अर्को एउटा कारण पनि हुन सक्छ त्यो के भने उनी आफ्नो अस्तित्व जोगाउनका लागि अन्तिम प्रयास गर्दैछन् ।

राजाले आफ्नो जन्मदिवसमा माओवादीसहितका राजनीतिक दल एवं विदेशी कुटनितिज्ञहरुलाई आमन्त्रण गरेर उनीहरुसँग सम्वन्ध पुनर्स्थापित गर्न खोजेको हुनसक्छ । तर उनको यो रणनिती असफल हुने पक्‍का छ । किनभने ढल्न लागेको राजसंस्थासित हात मिलाउने जोखिम उठाउन न राजनीतिक पार्टीहरु तयार छन् न त विदेशीहरु नै ।

राजाका समर्थकहरुले राजाको जन्मदिनमा उनलाई अभिनन्दन चढाउने कार्यक्रम सार्वजनिक गरिसकेका छन् । कम्तिमा उनीहरुले यो कार्यक्रम गुपचुप रुपमा नभइ घोषित रुपमै आयोजना गर्ने साहस गरेका छन् । यद्यपि यो कार्यक्रम वाइसिएल वा अरु विद्यार्थी संगठनहरुले भाड्न सक्ने प्रबल संभावना छ ।

कैले छोड्ने बाजे

    चौरासी वर्षको उमेर भनेको काल पर्खिने उमेर हो । भनौं, डाँडामाथीको घाम । उमेरले गिरिजा डाँडामाथीका घाम हुन् । तर यीनै डाँडामाथीका घामले अहिले देश चलाइरहेका छन्। चलाइरहेका छन् के भन्नु, देश बिगारिरहेका छन् भन्दा ठिक होला ।

बुढाले अस्ति चौरासी वर्ष टेके अरे । अर्थात बुढाको आयु एक वर्ष घटेको छ । काल पर्खेर बस्ने यो उमेरमा देश हाँक्न पाउने भाग्यमानी संसारमा कमै होलान् । त्यसो त अहिले राष्ट्राध्यक्षको समेत जिम्मेवारी बोकेका गिरिजा अधिकांस समय ओछ्यानमा थला परिरहेका हुन्छन् । तैपनि उनले पद छोड्ने कुनै चेष्टा देखाएका छैनन् । किन छाड्ने, आखिर कतैबाट उनको राजीनामा पनि त मागिएको छैन । कुर्सी बिनाको गिरिजा पानी बिनाको माछा जस्तै हुन् । त्यसैले मलाई पक्‍का विश्वास छ कि आफ्नो अन्तिम स्वास लिदासम्म गिरिजा प्रधानमन्त्रीको कुर्सीमा लिसो झैं टाँसिइरहने छन् । गिरिजालाई प्रधानमन्त्रीको रुपमा देख्न नचाहनेहरुले उनको मृत्यूको प्रतिक्षा गर्नुबाहेक अर्को बिकल्प छैन ।

म अचेल धेरैको मुखबाट सुन्छु कि गिरिजा अहिले मरे भने त देश बर्वाद हुन्छ । म भन्छु के अहिले सद्दे छ देश ? अनी देशलाई यो अवस्थामा पुर्‍याउनमा जिम्मेवार प्रमुख पात्र को हो ? मेरो बिचारमा त प्रजातन्त्र पुनर्स्थापनापछि नेपालका सबैभन्दा ठुला खलपात्र नै गिरिजा हुन् । उनले टनकपुर बेचे । लाउडा खाए । धमिजा काण्डमा अदालत धाए । उनकै पालामा देशमा अनेकानेक संकट निस्कन्छन् । तर यीनै खलनायकको अहिले सर्वत्र जयजयकार छ । आफ्नो परिवार र विशेषगरी छोरीको अगाडी सँधै नतमस्तक हुने यीनै कपटी बुढा अहिले दक्षिण एशियाकै महान नेता अरे । धिक्‍कार होस ।

६ वर्ष अघिको घाउ

हिजो जस्तो लाग्छ, ६ वर्ष बितिसकेछ । यस अवधिमा बाग्मती नदिमा धेरै पानी बगिसक्यो । मुलुकको राजनीतिमा ठूलो उथलपुथल आएको छ र यो जारी छ । ६ वर्ष अगाडीको लोकप्रिय राजसंस्था अब चरम अलोकपि्रय भएर अहिले समाप्तिको बिन्दुमा छ । चार सय वर्षपुरानो राजतन्त्रको अवसान कुनै सामान्य घटना होइन । राजसंस्था र राजतन्त्रको भविष्य संकटमा रहेको यो समयमा हामी लोकप्रिय राजा विरेन्द्र र उनको सपरिवार कत्लेआम भएको घटना फेरी सम्झिदैछौं ।
